Our pupils realise their potential. It might be academically. It could just as easily be in sport, music or drama. Or in one of the many activities we offer from the Prep right up to the Sixth Form. Whatever they do, they will flourish at Ipswich School.
Choosing a school is probably one of the hardest decisions parents have to make. Whether you know Ipswich School already, or perhaps are choosing an independent school for the first time, we firmly believe that we create extraordinary futures for all our pupils.
You can arrive at any time, but if you want to hear the the Head’s talk at the Prep aim to be here by 9.30am, and Headmaster’s talk at the Senior School aim to be here by 10.00am.
There is ample free parking on our playing fields, right in the centre of the Senior School and also in the grounds of the Prep School; we also have additional parking on other sites right next door.

We have something really exciting for them to do when they go round the school. We’ll tell them more when they arrive (we don’t want to spoil the surprise).
At The Lodge Day Nursery we offer exceptional childcare provision for children aged 3 months to 3 years. Based in the heart of Ipswich, we are a happy, nurturing haven. Our children are excited and inspired every day by caring professionals.
Just a few metres away from the Prep School, the Lodge Day Nursery is also hosting its Open Morning on Saturday 28th September. Children can read some of our wonderful books with members of the team, enjoy the play facilities in our garden or play with our bumper selection of toys, while parents can talk with Room Leaders. Come and visit to see how the Lodge leads the way in nursery provision.
Ipswich Prep is supportive and caring and makes education an adventure. We encourage girls and boys to enjoy learning and grow in self-confidence. We have the very best in sport, drama and music provision. We offer a marvellous range of subjects taught by the very best teachers. We like to challenge boundaries. For example, subjects include Russian and we have a full strings teaching programme in Music in Year 3. We are very proud of our co-curricular programme which is highly relevant today and is also great fun. There is no better place for children to develop a lifelong love of learning than Ipswich Prep School.

Everyone who comes to Ipswich School Sixth Form says that it is a wonderfully welcoming community, where students from all backgrounds feel at home. The newly refurbished Sixth Form Centre is a dedicated space for all sixth formers, including study rooms, computing facilities, a lounge area, coffee bar and even a grand piano. Supportive teachers, passionate about their subjects, help pupils gain the best A Level results. We also offer a wonderful range of co-curricular activities, the centrepiece is The Edge, starting in September 2019, which is a sector-leading initiative series of modules covering financial literacy, the law, civic responsibility, cooking, among others, and even a leadership qualification.
Our Open Morning will give you the opportunity to meet Ben Cliff, Head of Sixth Form, and the rest of the pastoral team. You can also meet all our A Level teachers along with students studying their subjects and tour our Sixth Form Centre.
We are holding our Sixth Form Information Evening on Tuesday 1 October 2019. Here we go into far more detail about our Sixth Form. You are very welcome to attend both events, but if you are interested in joining in Year 12 and can only make one of them, we would suggest that the Information Evening is the best one for you.
